Week 28

Hello!

THis week was amazing. Its just like the grand ol times! Elder Labrum and I are just having a ball. 

The deal with this area is 2 missionaries came into this area and shotgunned it. Like the area was white washed and these 2 were put in. They didnt last very long and now both of them are home with honorable releases. 

So, Last friday and saturday were a little rough and getting used to the area and people. Elder labrum has only been here 2 weeks and barely knows the area. And so we turned to the area book to try and find a starting point and the area book was destroyed when the apartment flooded about a month ago and was never restarted. So Elder Labrum and I are legit starting from complete scratch. However this week got better starting on Sunday. As soon as I got to church I just felt loved. SO many people came up to me and started tlaking to me and wanting to know about me. At sacrament meeting we couldnt sit with any investigators becuase they were already with ward members! this ward is so passionate about missionary work and its just amazing. They were a huge help in helping us find investigators houses and making sure no one was forgotten. I was the first speaker in sacrament meeting and I was asked to bear my testimony. It went pretty well to my knowledge because they didnt laugh or anything so i think that is good.

 After sacrament we had a women come up to us and asked to take the lessons and this is every missionaries dream. So we started taking down her information and we realized she knew quite a bit. Now fast forward to Monday afternoon. We went to teach Donna (that is her name) and as soon as we sat down to start teaching we knew she was golden. She told us she had already read all of JSH and 1 Nephi twice. She started 1 nephi for the third time earlier that day because she wants to understand the book of 1 nephi before she moves on. We tried teaching her the first lesson and she already knew everything. She had met missionaries from Vermont on facebook and had already learned a ton about the church. She is awesome. So we extended for baptism and her date is March 17th.

 We have a ton more investigators we are teaching and its a way good pool. If everything goes perfectly we will have weekly baptisms all of March and as of now the start of April. So this area has a ton of potential we are really excited about. At this point we are just trying to make sure no one is forgotten or lost and we dont lose investigators. 

Big shout out to now Sister Monson and Elder Broberg and their respective mission calls!

Week 27

I was called late tuesday night by president and asked if i would be willingly to be emergency transferred to San Gabriel. Its on the other side of the mission too. So all of yesterday was spent packing and saying goodbye to members and i left early this morning. I got special permission to travel by myself too so I was out in public by myself for about an hour which was really weird. I got to my new area this morning. Its the San Gabriel ward and i have heard really good things about it. My new companion is... Elder Labrum! hahaha we are companions again and the apartment is just us two so it looks to be lots of fun ahead of us. Thats all I have time for sorry I will reply to most emails next week!

Ricky luckily picked me up on the way this morning and took me the rest of the way to the office. It was so hard traveling with all my bags by myself.

Week 26

Hello everyone,

first ill start with the sad. So sunday night for dinner at a members house we had fried blood. i will tell you all it is just as gross as you are imagining. It was something that i absolutely can not describe. But needless to say it was not sitting well in my stomach. Then monday morning we had zone conference and the entire time i couldnt focus because i just felt like poop. When we finally got home i just went up to bed and laid down and not even 15 seconds and i was running to the bathroom. I throw up all over the place it was awful but the best part i dont know what i was thinking i tried keeping my mouth closed and all of the throw up came out of my nose. Now ill stop now because it gets worse but i think i have already told to much. But i am doing lots better now and am all good so dont worry. 

We have a friend named Joker in imus. He is a trike driver and he is so funny. We will just be walking along the road and hear crazy honking and screaming "MY BEST FRIENDS" and its Joker telling us to get on his trike he is going to drive us for free so of course we always get on. and yes we have tried teaching him but hes not interested he just wants to call us his best friends and give us free rides. now remember him for this next story.

second before i tell you this story you need to know elder cristoria and i ARE NOT disobedient. but on friday we decided to be 110% obedient. Like to the very exact minute. so we started to day perfect we were out the door at exactly 10am and off to our first appointment and my goodness we saw so many blessings and more. We were in a rush and needed to get across town for an appointment but didnt have enough money for a trike so we started walking and out of no where we just hear "BEST FRIENDS COME HERE" and boom joker saved us. Free trike ride. (Blessing 1) Later we were walking and I saw a white guy! (this is very rare) and he came up to me and in english asked me where i am from so i said Portland, OR and he said a naughty word and then proceeded to say Im from Salem, OR! so we talked for awhile and was able to teach him a lesson so that was really cool for me (Blessing 2). Later we were finding a less active family and when we found them the mother said to us "My daughter is 11 years old and was never baptized. I really want her to be baptized." Dab dab dab. so we are teaching the whole family and re activating them while getting a baptism. So hopefully Rianne is baptized on March 3rd. (Blessing 3). Now later that night we were all done with appointments. Super tired and hungry with no money for food or a trike so we had about a 45 minute walk home infront of us. So we started our walk and my goodness the Lords hand is real. Out of no where again we here "MY FRIENDS IM COMING BACK FOR YOU" so joker zoomed passed us with people on his trike, went and dropped them off and came back and picked us up. while he was driving us he pulled over out of no where and said "its on me!" and he bought us dinner. Then after dinner he took us home. This man is the worlds greatest blessing. (Blessing 4). 

Moral of the story, be exactly obedient and the Lord will bless you. Love you all lots. Write me letters!
