Week 44

Welp,

Last friday we had a super busy day. we had lots of appointments and tons of people to teach. Well we were coming down to the last couple appointments and we had the feeling we needed to go to the Leddas house. They are a member in the ward and Sister Ledda works for the neighborhood. So we went over to their house and sat down and started chatting. About 5 minutes in to talking we heard screaming at the front door and we saw a lady crying and screaming for help. All i picked up out of the screaming was "Susi fell off the cliff to the river." So elder ugalino got up and ran to where the lady told us this happened. Well we get there and there was a ton of people at the top but only one person at the bottom of the cliff trying to save susi. So elder ugalino and i immediately take off down the cliff. it is probably twice the size of the hill behind albertsons and just straight mud. So its a super long hill. well we finally get to the bottom and susi is at the bottom twisted and turned stuck in a huge thing of bamboo that luckily stopped her from going off a good 60 foot drop. When i finally get to Susi we realize she is drunk and now passed out. After a good 20 minutes of cutting and pulling bamboo susi was free and we could start the climb back up. Now at this point it has started to rain. The hill is super steep and just mud and not trying to be mean but susi is not a small women. So after 30 minutes of slipping and sliding, yanking and pulling and dragging, Susi is at the top of the hill. Now we met susi's 18 year old daughter who told us what happened and the whole situation. But due to my mother i will not specify the details at this time. However we carrying susi back to her house and lay her down in the kitchen and at this point she is still passed out drunk. Now i thought okay she is okay now and she is just going to sleep it off (I was wrong). So i went outside to wash off because at this point i was just covered in mud. And right before i started to wash my hands i heard screaming, so i ran back inside the house and susi was on the ground having seizures while her 18 year old daughter, 10 year old son and 6 year old daughter are screaming and crying. I dont know how i knew this or how i remembered it but for some reason i knew susi needed to stay on her side so if she threw up she wouldnt choke and die. SO ELDER SACKLEY (Because everyone else is either crying or cant take seeing that stuff which i cant take this kind of stuff either) is the one who has to hold susi on her side while she has seizures and throws up. There was countless times i had to check her pulse to make sure she still had one. Needless to say I have never been so afraid in my entire life and said so many prayers in such a short amount of time. However while i was dealing with all of this the member called 911 and an emergency team was able to come and help. So when i left the situation susi was on a strecther being put in an ambulance. Now 6 days later i now she is at home and recovering but i havent been able to visit her yet. I think later today :)

On a more happy note I got to do 2 baptismal interviews this past sunday which were both super spiritual events. Its so amazing being able to interview people who have prepared to be baptized.

Hope you are all doing well. Love you all lots

Week 43

Hello,

THis week has been pretty good. The biggest down part is the (I dont know what the word is in english) Baguio Domeng is here. Its just a huge storm that is constant rain thunder and lightning and truly puts a down in our work. The thunder is so incredibly loud here like it sounds like gun shouts constantly going off and as i am typing this right now its going off.

However this week we had a really cool experience with a part member family. The member in the family is a 22 year old female. She is really cool and has asked us several times to try and come teach her family. Well whenever we would go they would be "busy" or not home. However because of the rain and being punted several times we were forced over by here house and thought we would give it a shot. When we went over there we saw that the whole family was home and we knew this was our shot. They said they didnt have a lot of time so we decided to do PSP (Pray, sing, pray). Its a thing our mission does i dont know if anyone else does it. But we were able to sing Families can be together forever and relate it straight into lesson one. The spirit was very strong and you could tell their hearts were touched. We asked Jenny to give a testimony at the end of it and she broke down into tears saying how happy she was that her family was listening to the missionaries now and shared a really powerful testimony about how through the gospel families can truly be together forever. It was awesome!

Being district leader is lots of fun. The Zone Leaders are in my district too so i get to interact with them lots!

Love you all!

Week 42

Welp,

I dont have a whole lot of time so ill try to make it fast and give you a quick summary of everything that happened this week.

First the most heart breaking thing you will feel as a missionary is an investigator calling you the day of their baptism and saying they wont be baptized. Nothing else compares to that feeling as a missionary. So John wasnt baptized on saturday however with some praying and fasting he should be in the coming weeks.

Second Ella was baptized on saturday! However we realized sunday right before she was confirmed that her name was wrong. So we couldnt confirm her and we had to hold another baptism and re baptize her last night hahaha. Needless to say make sure you have the right name.

Last this morning we were able to attend a wedding! Caintic family was married! It was definitly something i will never forget and it was something else but we are now so excited for them. A couple more things to do and they will be baptized as well!

Good news last sunday we had 16 investigators at church. That was super exciting and a lot of them are progressing as well.

Got a call Sunday night from President asking me to be a District Leader. So i am still in my same area with Elder Ugalino but I am DL now!

 Love you all lots

Week 41

Hello,

Meet Jared Muyano (Ill attach a picture). Jared is 10 years old and a recent convert. His whole family is members however very less active and actually want nothing to do with the church but 10 year old Jared every week finds a way and comes to church. And every week he comes to me and asks me if we can come and visit him during the week and of course we are more then happy to but he doesnt know his address and his house is so hard to find. So needless to say we have tried so many times but can never find it.

Well the other day we were walking passed kinda where Jared lives and i had the thought we need to go and see him. So we took a de tour and were off to jareds. And as we were searching for his house we were walking down i street we hadnt walked down before and then we saw jared jumping up and down waving us down.

okay now flip to jared. Jared had been home alone all day. All his siblings go to work and dont come home till late. He goes to bed before they come home and wakes up after they leave so 10 year old Jared basically lives by himself. Welp it was the afternoon and Jared decided to take a nap. Well while he was napping he had a dream. In his dream he said he was talking to a man. He didnt know who the man was but the man said to him "Jared wake up, the angels are coming to see you" and so Jared woke up and walked out side to see the "Angels" coming to see him. Well there were no angels just a super tall american and a short filippino. When he told us his dream i was just amazed. we had no plan of going to see jared that day and we didnt even know where he lived but i know through the Lord Miracles truly do happen. Its just so amazing that if we have the faith, God will take care of the rest. We were able to share a super happy fun message with him and shoot a couple baskets before we had to go.

other side of things. John wasnt baptized this past week but good news he is this week and has a partner. So both John and Ella are being baptized this week!

Donna went and did baptisms for the dead the other day in the temple so that is super cool. First convert to do that!

Lots of work to do here and we absolutely slaughter ourselves daily. Tuesday we walked in the door at 9:29 pm, after 12 hours of proselyting and 16 lessons i went to sleep on the kitchen floor in my proselyting clothes. love my life. love you all lots!

Week 40

Hello,

This week has been pretty fun. Couple of quick things before i write my big thought. Tatay Miguel is out of the hospital! We got to go and visit him yesterday and yes it was really sad but i was just so happy to see him and talk to him. He still remember my name and everything it was super sweet.

We also got to go to Tagaytay again this past p day. We went up to a place called peoples park. It wasnt anything like last time. Last time was all rides and games and this one was just really pretty views. However one thing happened. Mallory i hate to break it to you but you are no longer the only sibling that held a crocodile on their mission. Oh yeah thats right i got to hold one and it was beyond dope... pictures will be coming.

This week is Johns Baptism. We are super excited for him. He passed his interview the other day and all things are lined up. However the other night he asked us if he could move his baptism. He told us how he was afraid for his baptism. He basically just opened up to us and shared his doubts and everything. we were able to teach him a super spiritual lesson about how the closer you get to your baptism the harder satan is going to work to mess it up. We were able to point out to him how much of a testimony he truly had and how he truly knew this is the true church. It was a super sweet lesson and the spirit was beyond strong.

Life besides that is good. Love you all
