Week 49

Hello,

"i have often dreamed, of a far off place. where a great wide welcome will be waiting for me. where the crowds will cheer, when they see my face, and a voice keeps saying, this is where i am meant to be. Ill be there some day! I CAN GO THE DISTANCE!"

however until then....

Dasma 2nd ward is great. The people here are so very nice and are very helping with the missionary work and the best part of this ward is we have dinner appointments EVERY night. There are only 3 areas in the mission that do this and this is one of them so you already know i am about to gain 20 pounds here. So much food. Sacrament meeting attendance is for sure a new adjustment. On sunday there were 43 people at church ahahaha so my welcoming testimony wasnt to scary. However sunday was in the middle of a storm so that may be a reason why there was barely anyone at church.

Being a Zone leader is hard. I didnt expect we would have to do so much but oh man i was wrong. We have to call so many poeple every night to check up on them. We have to import numbers on the computer every monday, we  have to meet with the stake president??? and discuss missionary work, we have to call all bishops (9) in our stake and check on the missionaries in their perspective wards. All i want to do is go home at night and sleep but its the exact opposite of that.

however this area is super good. We have lots of investigators to teach and lots more of the area to explore. I took some pics with some of them so i will make sure to try and attach them.

My companions name is elder toldanes! he is 23 and from Bulacan (Manila) but its inside of the quezon city north mission. He reminds me a lot of Tai and is just tons of fun. He goes home in February so still has a decent chunk left of his mission.

Elder Egli and Elder Uasike live right next to us as well so a lot of our dinner appointments and lunch appointments they come with us and we go with them and we are with each other lots so its a grand ol time. Elder Egli is from Washignton and Elder Uasike from tonga!

Love you all lots! THank you for all the prays and your support!

Week 48

Hello,

I am super busy and no time but I will leave you as much as i can. I have been transferred! It was really sad leaving everyone in GMA but I am excited for this new chapter in my mission. I am now in  DasmariƱas 2nd ward. I am companions with Elder Toldanes and we are the zone leaders here! It is super exciting. THis is the biggest zone in the mission in terms of land area and companionship.

Caintic Family was baptized last saturday! Hands down one of the coolest baptisms i have experienced. It was such an amazing feeling being able to baptize and watch them be baptized. So happy for them. THey were first reffered to missionaries back in 2014 and now after 4 years and lots of missionaries they were finally baptized!

I have lots of pics to attach so I will count that as my letter. Love you all lots

Week 47

Hello,

This was a really good week and lots has continued to be going on. Here are some highlights...

I got to interview another investigator last sunday for baptism. It was hands down the craziest bapitsmal interview i have ever done. Every answer she gave me had a scripture reference. She has already read the book of mormon 4 times and it was incredible of how much she absorbed.

Also the whole Caintic family passed their baptismal interviews this past weekend with flying colors so the Jennifer (mom), Judith, Joel and Jihro will all be baptized this coming saturday. We are SUPER excited for them. They started investigating the church back in 2014 and now they are finally being baptized. SO exciting.

Also Susi and Shine are doing super well. They came to church this past Sunday and had a really good experience. Its so amazing watching their progression and we are super excited for their baptism coming up.

Also the other night we were at a dinner appointment and I was sitting next to a 4 year old girl. Here nickname is "Bobs" and shes super funny. Ill attach a picture but we were sitting eating and she leans over to me and says she has something to say. SO she whispers in my ear "Elder sackley eat the rest of my food I cant do it" and i responded "Bobs what why?" and she looks at me and say "I need to poop" and I dont think i have ever laughed so hard. It was so funny. The rest of the table was so confused because no one else heard but it was so good.

Also this coming week is my last week in my area. District leader was lots of fun and I have loved San Gabriel ward but Zone Leader is just calling my name ;)

Love you all lots! I dont know what time ill be on next week but ill write :)

Week 46

Hello,

This week lots has happened and I dont have lots of time to tell it all but I will do my best. First of all The CAINTIC FAMILY FINALLY IS GETTING BAPTIZED!! WOOHOO!! I have taught this family lessons 1-5 completely three times and now finally they are being baptized. SO we are super excited for them. Their baptism is this coming July 14th (Right before transfer day;)) So more happiness to come with them.

Also I had the opportunity to do another baptism interview this past sunday and I really enjoy it. It is such a spiritual experience and something I really do love.

Lastly, Shine and Susi. We are continually teaching them and they are just getting better and better. Last sunday they came to church and were absolutely fascinated about all the rooms and just everything. It was a super good experience for them. On tuesday when we taught them they opened up to us about their life and how ever since we started teaching them there has been something new in their life. They werent sure exactly what is was but they told us how as a family they are way more happy now and how they get along a lot more. It was such a sweet chance to testify to them that we knew it was from the gospel.

Also for reasons i can not say I am writing a letter to the Prophet and It is the most stressful thing in the world. Knowing that President Russel M Nelson himself is going to read it makes me want to write every word perfectly and have my grammar flawless. I guess Ms Brownell making me write a perfect paper was worth my time :)

Anyways love you all lots. Send me random questions you have and I will be happy to answer them :)

Love you all,

Elder gsack

Week 45

Hello,

THis week has not been as exciting as the last but I would like to continue the story from last week. So we set a return appointment with Susi and her family to try and teach them. Well of course the time came and we went to go and teach them. We were able to teach Susi, her two daughters and her niece. They were super nice and friendly and very very thankful for what we had down. We Sat down and taught them a super powerful lesson one. The spirit was very strong and we focused a lot on how families can be together forever. They opened up to us on how their family has a lot of struggles and trials and how they really believed that our message could help them in their family lifes. They understood everything and were super excited to come to church the following day (which they did). So they are now progressing towards their baptismal date on July 28. Its oh so amazing how you find some of the people you teach ;)

Thats really all. Nothing exciting happened this week. Ill try to get a happier letter next week. Also next week going to Tagaytay so i dont know what time I am going to email.

Love you all lots
